Solved Can't log in to some websites?

Well my subscription was free and came with my laptop, I already cancelled it from renewing because I was planning on searching for a free anti virus software anways.

So If Microsoft Essentials will keep my PC safe, I couldn't care less about losing TrendMicro

I have heard nothing but good things about it. I get free Mcafee with my ISP

I downloaded MSE and it told me I need to uupdate it, so i clicked the update button, and it began the update process then stopped abruptly. Is this maybe a compatibility issue because I currently still have TrendoMicro installed?

Uninstall Trend and see.

I suggest you get rid of trend Alot of people had problems with 2 A/V installed.

Highly doubtful. Every symptom mentioned can be caused by the clock being set wrong though.

Yeah, I forgot I had changed the date. I changed it back and it worked. Thanks.

Rich - yes, I did uninstall using the websites directions

EDIT: Just wanted to let you guys know that now that Trend Micro is gone, I am not having any of the issues I was having before with logging in to websites or being told they don't have security certificates

Holy cow can NOT believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I SUDDENLY had this problem. There were certian websites that I could not log in to. HP game console was one, a major mmporpg was another, and I tried EVERYTHING. I have worked on computers for 15 years and I have NEVER heard of not being able to log into a site because your computer clock was set wrong. At least not regular community sites.
I reinstalled Windows, I bought a new subscription to Norton 360, I combed over EVERY process EVER run on my computer, I reset my DSL modem to factory defaults, I disconnected my wireless router, I even (secretly lol) logged on to my neighbors unsecured wireless internet connection and NO result from any of it. I set my computer clock correctly. The cmos (Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor) battery was dead. So I reset my date and time (replaced the battery) and viola I was able to log in!!

The truly crazy thing to me is that this problem popped up out of no where. Just one day, a few day's ago, I was not able to log in to certian sites. It was not that my cmos battery suddenly died as I had noticed a couple of times that the date was wrong but I never took the time to reset it or figure out why it was wrong because it just made NO difference to me lol
