Solved Can't open Music, Pictures, Videos ect

When I open Windows Explorer, I'm unable to open Music,Pictures, Videos ect.

It states.

"Music.library-ms" is no longer working.


No problems with sfc /scannow
Unable to open properties of the listed programs.
Restore points don't go back far enough.
I did my backup/clone not knowing this problem was there, so they are no good.
I verified that my Windows Updates are the same on both computers, so I don't think that is a problem.
I have run a verity of security scans 'no problems found'.
When I do find the above programs using Everything Search, I'm unable to change permission.
Unable to solve problem in 'Safe Mode'.

I do have a Microsoft Windows 7 Pro/64 DVD if needed.

Can you still get acccess to the various music, video, pictures and docs files bearing in mind that you only have links to these files in the "Libraries"?
What "programs" do you mean here?

Jack. Have a look under Computer, C:, Users & then your user name & see if these are listed there. If so, you can Right Click on each item & select Include in Library, which should bring them back into Windows Explorer.

Sorry for taking so long to get back. Thank you all for your suggestions.

I have tried your suggestion plus a new user account. Did not help.

I'm in the process of a Clean Install and all the damn updates.

I keep thinking very hard what could of caused this problem.
Many things under my user account (Admin.) were locked, even when I took ownership.
I have two computers that run Windows 7/64 Pro and I treat them both the same.
Same programs, updates, ect..
It's got me confused.
I will get back to good folks if I figure it out.

You don't say in your System Specs what A/V you have. It might well be that you have or had a bug in the system? Did you run any scans before going into a clean install? Do you not use something like Macrium Reflect to back up your system on a regular basis? This would probably save you a ckean install!

I know it's too late now but did you think to enable the "Hidden Admin Account"? My guess is that the list of installed updates would show a few failures over the past few months.
Just out of curiosity, do you create a clone or an image for your backups?

I may be wrong but I have always understood that for regular backups an image is better. A clone is best used when you need to set up a new hard drive! This explains it better than I can:

Clones work best for my needs.

I Clone my entire ssd to another 'Hot Swap' ssd.
Then I check the Clone for proper working and then remove it from the computer.

Whether I Clone or make a image backup, if the original is not correct the Clone or Backup are not correct. That is what happened to me. Not knowing at the time that the original had a problem so the Clone had a problem. If I would of made a image 'backup' it would of made a image of the problem. So either way my backup or clone would not help.

The advantage of images is that you can have a series of images covering say, the last 3 weeks, being one each week. So this gives you alternatives that might go back before the problem.

As far as i know you can only have one clone on a back up disc, whereas you can have a number of images.

You are somewhat correct.
One can have a clone on the first partitions of a drive and a image backups on other partitions of the same drive. The clone must be on the first partitions to enable the drive to boot. If one desires two drives can be use.
I have so little to back up I chose to use clones and as many ssd's as required.

I just didn't have a clone that went back far enough or a restore point that went back far enough.
Just a error on my part.
