Can't re-install Windows 7 Ultimate on a formatted WD Scorpio Blue

Hello,

Looking for some help - I had a HD problem - decided to format my WD Scorpio Blue
wd3200bpvt-22zesto HD -

While trying to install Windows 7 OS - system could not find or locate HD - it's looking for a driver - for the wd3200bpvt-22zesto. tried to use DUNBAR but was presented with a non-fatal erro - - re-format HD - same issue - Can't seem to be able to install any OS unless it finds the driver for the HD wd3200bpvt-22zesto


Can't find the driver - Any idea or clue what I can try to install a OS on my ACER

Choose the load SATA driver option during installation time and insert the driver disc given by the manufacturer ..I think that should work..

thanks !Bagavan but That is the issue and delima I don't have disc or driver for this HD ..This is the HD that came with my ACEr laptop whe I bought it - I just can't re-install Windwos 7 - Doesn find any partition or HD or driver for my HD - I'm stuck with a 320G HD formated and can't load any OS becasue its looking for a driver or loader ..

Any suggestion

can you tell me the model number of your laptop..Please check on the acer website.. They will definitely provide the right sata driver.

Have you tried changing your SATA mode. I have known this issue to occur many times when dealing with XP installations where the HDD wasn't supported by XP. ACER would have placed a customised Windows 7 image onto the drive when you bought the laptop, which would have contained the driver.

Simply go into the BIOS and change the SATA Mode to IDE (it's probably in AHCI), and see if that helps.

Thank-you clangers - tried to change mode - Same No device driver were found ... I beggining to wonder if my is beyond repairable - I can format it and copy files to it at ease with no issues - I even ran a checkdsk and nothing was found - I loaded a spare HD for now since I needed a laptop - I will probably need to buy a new HD -

I cannot find & download SATA drivers ACER Aspire 5250-BZ479
Please help. Its my last resource before I chuck the 320G HD away for good.

No promises, but this is from the latest AMD chipset package,

Just extract it and put it on a USB key, then try the installation again and when it asks for the SATA driver point it to the folder.

From the link below there is no sata achi driver so it may need to run in IDE mode as clangers suggested. If you choose Notebooks>aspire scroll down to the 5250 and you will see what i mean.

Are you saying that the bios isnt even detecting the hard drive? If so, you probably need to open the system up to check to make sure all the cables, etc are connected properly and that the drive is getting power to it. Also; if needed; you may have to open the system up and replace the hard drive cable going from the drive to the board.

EDIT: as far as windows goes in detecting the drive; if everything is connected properly and the drive is getting power to it and there are no other issues windows should be able to detect the drive and install the right driver automatically.
