Good Morning,

I just received 2 brand new laptop with Windows 7 on it, I setup those 2 laptop from my desk in WIRELESS mode on my network and it work perfectly !

When I go back to the people desk I plugged the Wired network and disconnect from the WIRELESS network, when I pluggeg the cable Windows seven identify the network with the same name of my WIRELESS SSID network (IDEFIX). Since that time if I unplug the cable and try to connect to a Wireless Network I see 4 other Wireless network in the list but mine (IDEFIX) is not there ??. I renamed the Wired to network but I still can't see my Wireless Network SSID IDEFIX

As a test this morning I just change the SSID of my Wireless network to IDEFIX2 and now the 2 laptop CAN see my Wireless Network !!!

Before changing the SSID I ran all the test provided by Windows seven and nothing Worked. So I suspect that the WIRELESS NETWORK SSID IDEFIX is disabled somewhere but I can't find where that information is keeped to change it ?

Thank you for any hint !

Sylvain

Really strange, I renamed back my Wireless Network SSID to IDEFIX and now I can see it in the list of the Wireless network !. I plugged the cable back and disconnected from IDEFIX, I unplugged the cable and in the list of my WIRELESS network IDEFIX is there ??

What did I do wrong the first time, to not be able to see it in the Wireless network list ??

It could just be a lag issue. I cannot think of any other explaination.

Aem,
It could just be a lag issue. I cannot think of any other explaination.

I don't think it's a LAG because that laptop stay openned all night, and when I entered this morning before changing any setting I clicked the refresh button in the Wireless network list and IDEFIX wasn't there, BUT the startup value for the Wired Auto Config service was MANUEL I switched back to Automatic and I started it.

I'm waiting for my other collegue with his Windows seven laptop, I'll not change any setting I'll just rename the SSID of my Wireless network to see if it's solve the problem, if not I'll go the the service and check the value for the Wired Auto Config service

Stay tuned,

Sylvain

What's in the Connection tab of the SSID Property? click on the wireless icon next to the speaker bottom right, and righ-click on your SSID. You should see three boxes.

My second collegue just entered, and it see the Wireless network IDEFIX WITHOUT changing any configuration on the laptop, this is really weird I can't reproduce the problem anymore, so I'll not waste your precious time !.

Thank you very much for your precious time and information,

Best Regards,

Sylvain
