Hi, I've had my computer set up for quite some time with Win7 Ultimate 32-bit (Yes I know I can support 64-bit, but I had issues with my TV-tuner drivers). My parents' computer downstairs is Vista Premium. When I go on their computer and try to connect to mine from the network, it says

Code:
\\ALEX-PC is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

I checked all of the Network and Sharing Center options, and I'm pretty sure I have it adequately set-up so that it should work. Any ideas?

Hi, I don't quite understand what you mean. Can you be a little more specific? Where would I put the ip address? And where were you talking about for the other part?

What i meant was instead of typing \\ALEX-PC, type in the IP addres of ALEX-PC.
So instead of \\ALEX-PC, type \\IPaddress.

As for the second part.

Click "Change adapter Setting" link in Network and Sharing Center.
Righ-click on the connection adatper you're using (LAN or Wireless).
Properties.
Highlight TCP/IPv4
Click Properties button...

..and check that Netbios over tcp/ip is ticket.
