Can't Tag or Rate Photos on Second Hard Drive

Hi,

I am really digging the ability to rate and tag photos. I take a lot of photos and don't have enough room for them on my C: drive. I have a second internal drive that I store them on. The problem is that I am unable to rate or tag any picture on the second drive. The stars are de-highlighted and tags is not even present in the pane. However, any picture on the C drive can be rated or tagged.

I have tried adding the external drive folder as a library. It addes it properly and allows the arranging functions to be used but I can not tag or rate.

Any suggestions.

Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit (clean install from formatted drive)

optimze folder for pictures

I know this was two years ago and you may now have solved it but anyone else with the same problem could try changing the folder properties to optimise for pictures
-right click folder,
-properties,
-customize tab, -
-optimize this folder for - scroll down to 'pictures'
- also tick aply to subfolders

The files are tagged as read only. Right click on the file folder. Select properties. Deselect the read only button at the bottom. You will then be able to right click on the photo, go into properties and add tags.
