Can't un-install Norton Security scan, computer crashing

I have tried many ways to un-install Norton Security scan from my windows 7 acer computer. However, I haven't had any luck. Every time I try to un-install norton from my control panel it says that it is running and that i need to close it out before trying to uninstall it. Well, I've pulled up my task manager and it isn't showing me that it's running anywhere. I have used the Norton removing tool. However, it had no effect on uninstalling it. I also tried using the tool in safe mode. No luck. Also, my computer keeps crashing with a blue screen.

One possibility is that there's something wrong with the installation. Sometimes it helps to install the product again. And then try uninstalling it.

Was Norton pre-installed from the manufacture ?
I read your system spec's is Mcafee really your choice in security ?
Mcafee is one of the most controversial security suites to use please reconsider if that's your new choice :/

Yes I used that tool. No Norton didn't come on my system. It came with macafee and macafee has been working fine with me except it won't complete a full scan anymore. Somehow I found out that there is a problem with a my Norton security scan that actually got downloaded.

Maybe Mcafee and Norton don't get along too well and if you uninstall Mcafee you'll also be able to remove Norton

Ha possibly use the mcafee removal tool will help

Mcafee is a very difficult security suite to get rid of and is very unpredictable,

where would i go to re-install it if it downloaded when i installed shockwave?

I figured out how to un-install it. had to download "revo uninstaller pro" and deleted the registry for it
