i am using HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook Model #: A1U59AV ; i recently (10 days back) formatted and re-installed windows from my recovery dvds. from that time, i cannot install updates to windows win-upd.png ; ie., the windows update screen searches for updates for days but in vain (network activity lights dont blink in my modem-router). i tried to install windows updates using offline installers but they continue to run for hours but in vain. i am using the builtin windows firewall with default configuration. also if i try to install dot-net framework 4 using offline installer (which is required by a 3rd party firewall and antimalware program) it gets stuck after unpacking and file-verification. i have followed the instructions posted at Windows Update Posting Instructions and then zipped the CBS folder and uploaded it View attachment 394509. please help me. many thanks in advance.

I did not start a New Thread I answered another persons query on how to get updates started on his PC. My way works unlike all of the B/S Microsoft is putting on their update pages.
