Solved Cascading Context Menus

Windows 7 context or shortcut menu has always expanded cascaded items on mouse hover in the past.
This has stopped working for me and it now takes an extra click. I'm guessing that there is a registry key gone bad because I can't find any settings for it elsewhere.
It is not a big deal but I wonder if anyone knows how to fix this.

Do you have a Restore Point from before it happened? If so that may restore it. It's also a good idea to use a Registry Backup program such as ERUNT.

Edit: Sometimes if you get something strange like that a complete power down and start up may clear it up. I'd try that before running the Restore Point.

I just found this: Disable Hover Feature - Microsoft Community 6th post in the thread by RW+3. Just do the opposite.

By default in Windows 7, when you hover your mouse pointer over the "All Programs" menu or other defined menus in the Start Menu, after a brief moment Windows automatically opens the submenu. This assumes that whenever you hover your mouse pointer over a menu, you mean to expand it.

If you do not like this behavior it can be disabled.

1. Right-click an empty area of the taskbar and choose "Properties".

2. The "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box appears. Click the "Start Menu" tab.

3. Click the "Customize" button.

4. The "Customize Start Menu" dialog box appears. Scroll down and uncheck the "Open submenus when I pause on them with the mouse pointer" box.

5. Click "OK" on the dialog boxes to close them.

Thank you all for your kind attention.
The problem is confined to my context menus (right click menu). The Start Menu behaves according to the settings Ztruker pointed out. I've set that to expand on mouse hover because I think that is more efficient than having to click again. The context menus always worked that way until a few days ago. Or maybe it was a few weeks and I filed to notice.

I restored an ERUNT backup that was 10 days old and to my supprise it had no effect but thanks for the suggestion.
I have an Acronis partition image from that same time and I may resort to it reluctantly. I'd rather use a scalpel than a sledgehammer and, if it does work, I won't know what went wrong.

I want to congratulate you on your brilliance. It was set to 65535 milliseconds. I suppose if I waited over a minute the hoover would respond. I reset MenuShowDelay = 400 and, after reboot, its back to normal. I have no idea how it got screwed up.
