case woes

Hey guys vierasniper here, i got a quick question for you. im also wondering if this is the right place to post the question. i recently bought a gtx 260 by bgf and im trying to install it. heres where the problems start, i have no idea how to remove the metal plates in the back of my computer. its a sore bough pc, the model is a ET1331g
by emachines, i attached some pictures of how the back looks. i tried google, youtube, but everyone is boasting about their huge tool-less cases. i also tried customer support but they were pretty useless. any help guys?

No worries, lol. They actually are held on several areas around each plate. You have to actually break them out. It shouldn't take too much to break them loose. A Guy

Try sticking a screwdriver into the holes that look like a "+" and wiggle things around until they break off.

Hi,

It looks like on the outside of the case there is a metal strip on top of the pci brackets
that you'll have to remove first.
After that you'll have to move the bracket carefully back and forwards untill it releases
from the case itself because it is still attached to the case a bit on the left side.

thanks for the heads up. the card is not low profile, is it gonna take one slot or 2?

If this is your card, you'll need to remove two.

Normally a 260gtx card will take up the space of two slots.
The metal strip on top of the slots/brackets holds the card in place.

yes that is my card!!! thhanks derek. bringing to you live as it happens, i removed two of the slots, but theres a metal strip in the middle thats in the way. i posted some pics. its a tight fit as it is and that strip is in the way. can i remove it or is there a way around it?

p.s the new PSU runs just great!! running it now

Maybe it's a tight fit, but it should fit like it is now.

im sorry for double posting or braking any forum rules. The card is in and it works, i got another question. the power supply cables were kinda short and i could only power the HDD (until i get an adapter or something) I know i have to put in the instalation cd to install the drivers, since its not beign powerd, can i just DOWNLOAD the latest drivers?

I would do that anyway.

Should be no problem downloading the drivers.
Most of the time the drivers on the cd are not the latest anyway.
