Solved Change Color of Visited Links in Firefox - ONLY Links

There are lots of online suggestions on how to change the colors, but none deal with the fact that backgrounds, etc also change. Some talk about CSS but I'm not familiar with programming. Using Firefox 60.0.2 64 bit. Suggestions?

Isn't the visited link a light blue?


Firefox used to have the option under Tools | Content. Here's how to do it.


Go to the address bar and type in about:config. Hit enter.

Say yes.

In the search box paste: browser.visited_color

Now go to this website and find the hex code for the color you want. Color Hex Color Codes

Double click the about:cofig entry browser.visited_color to change it. Make sure it starts with a #.

I use Pale Moon myself. It has the content section like FF used to and it doesn't copy Chrome. But it is kind of an experimental browser. Especially since so many website sniff the user agent and won't work right. So you have to use an extension and make websites think you are using Firefox. Other than that it's been a great browser. Been using it now for about 4 years.

Color change is fine, but does not effect website formatting. I've installed Pale Moon - very good... only issue is that my password manager (Dashlane) is not available on this browser. Looks like I have to continue seeking a solution to the formatting issue. Would CSS do it, and if so how-to.

Ditch Dashline and use Keepass instead. You shouldn't rely on cloud-based password managers. Others will disagree. But I know Lastpass got hacked not once but twice. And Dashline is no diffrent. You want to store your passwords locally then backup the database file to USB stick or CD every once in a while as you add more passwords.

You asked about changing the visited URL color. I don't know what else it is you desire. Going beyond that means you have to edit CSS code and what have you and it may be best to find an extension or craft a grease monkey script.

I forgot to say that Pale Moon does not support the current web extension platform for add-ons like Firefox. You have to use Pale Moon's add-ons at the website since they are XUL based.
