Had to change MB now I get activation prompts, but won't accept my valid key. Can't afford round the world call to support line. I bought win7 in Hawaii when I lived there. Now staying in Thailand.

I am guessing this is an OEM win7 so when you changed the mobo, it is thinking you are using the version on a new computer. you might have to call, but maybe someone on here can lend a hand.

There is a department in Thailand though... Microsoft Worldwide Sites

Also are you going by these methods of activation? Activate Windows 7 on this computer

You'll need to use telephone activation and speak to an operator. OEM Keys are generally locked to the first motherboard on which they are activated, so make sure that you state that you are the system builder.

Click on the Start button
in the Search box, type
SLUI 4
and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you

OK, well no this was a full purchase. Unfortunately in it's "wisdom" m-soft materials produced and flagged for Thailand are written in Thai language with no option to switch the language. It was originally installed on a laptop I bought some time ago. The laptop had an oem install of the "home" win7. I intended to give the laptop to my Thai wife and wanted full language options, so I bought the full win7 ultimate. So, since I have 2 legal licenses, I installed the ultimate in a custom desktop I built for myself, as the wife has a new laptop. Everything was fine with the situation, until I had a MB problem and replaced it under factory service. I see no logical reason why the install in the new desktop would be ok, then not be ok with the MB change AND MS not accepting the key of a full legal license.

I guess because there is no reply ..that this means I must make a toll call halfway around the world, then go thru an automatred process which won't work, then be put on hold for who knows how long to speak to a real human being, who can then help me with the product I paid a lot of money for??Just asking...
The Thai microsoft support site is strictly in Thai, as mentioned previously.

Thanks for your help. I used the number listed on the microsoft Thailand page. It was an in country toll call, but very cheap. The Automated system would not work, but ended up with a real person, and was sucessful. Joy.

I didn't use that one....02-263-6888 worked fine for me. toll including mobile minutres was about $.50. Microsoft Customer Service and Support Center
