changing dll files to "Unknown Application"

Hi, I'm transferring files from one PC to another and when I open dll files in the new pc, they open in IE. On the other one they are listed as "Unknown Application." I tried going in and changing how to open the files, but "Unknown Application" is not a choice. How do I change this so the dll files open in Unknown App? I have to install four dll files in order to get a program to function properly on my computer. Thanks.
