Chkdsk /v 8kb in bad sectors

I made a chkdsk and found errors which were repaired by not allowing the bad fragments to be written on. When I use chkdsk /v it continually shows 8kb in bad sectors. Does anyone know if these are the bad sectors that were sent into limbo or the total bad kb on the hard drive? I am trying to determine if monitoring these bad kb, can help me decide if the HD is getting progressivly worse.

I have made back ups of my documents and the OS. I think that these bad sectors were caused by a recent freeze which required a bad shutdown. If so I may not be required to replace the harddrive.

Can you try chkdsk /r.

As per Dinesh's post, try chkdsk /r.

In addition, see if your Hard Drive manufacturer has a Disk repair/check utility.

Already did /r. That is how I was able to move the bad clusters to the dont use area.
Did the Dell check and it shows bad sectors. Just trying to determine if the orignal problem (not a serious issue to me) is spreading and I may have to install a new HD.

Edit: The damage is to the HD, not just files.

Personally I would get a new drive and replace it. If its showing up disk errors then its not worth risking losing data. If the drive isnt too badly damaged then you maybe able to image it and restore the image onto the new drive (saving you the task of the OS installation) but a clean installation is always better .
