Hello everyone,

I have to do a clean install and wondered if there is an efficient way to install all the updates that will be generated once I finish the clean install. Can I download these first some how? Is there a pseudo SP2 that contains most of these?

Thanks

No, there isn`t, not yet. After the install just run windows update until there are no updates left. It doesn't take that long.

It's easier to let Windows Updates do these since it sequences them for you which takes less time than using standalone installers.

Takes approx an hour with decent connection, you can do them while you're setting up your desktop and installing other programs. If Win7 doesn't want anything else being done during Updates it will refuse to install it. There will be 3-4 restarts required until all Updates including Net Framework 4 and its updates are installed.

Be sure to enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) and include all Optional Updates. Windows Updates can be trusted with failures less than one in a million, remedied by System Restore from System Recovery Options

Other tips to get a perfect install same as for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
