Hello,

After reinstalling Windows 7 my internet connection stopped working. I am using an abit AirPace Wi-Fi Adapter - it worked before the reinstalling and such.

I have installed the driver and I can see it under the Hardware-thingy. However, it has a yellow warning sign next to it - a code 52? I have a feeling that if I fix that my internet will work again, can any of you please help me out?

Thanks!

(I am happy to give more information if needed / answer any questions that might get me to a solution!).

You are absolutely correct. A yellow triangle indicates that the driver (or device) is not functioning correctly. Without the driver you wifi cant work.

Have you tried to go to the manufacturer (abit) and getting the newest driver for your device?

One note of caution make sure it is for the correct version (ie 32bit or 64bit).

If there is no windows 7 driver available you can use a driver from an earlier operating system by installing it in compatibility mode.

It is easy to install in compatibility mode. Simply right click the installer, then go to properties, then compatibility. Chose the OS the driver was designed for.

No matches found.

I am already aware of which decive and such it is - in fact, I have the driver for Vista 64bit installed -> however, the program can't seem to locate the device, even though it is connected? It flashes with green light when I give power to da monster :P.

What does it say in event viewer regarding the issue?

To check for freezing/crashing you need to check several things.

1-Event viewer.
Type eventvwr in search and go to the windows log>application tab.
Look for errors. Errors have red in the left hand column.

Look for errors that say app hang, or app crash, or anything related to the problem.
When you find them either take a screenshot of them and upload them to us, or note the event ID and source codes and look them up in google. If you cant find them in google tell us what they are.

All erros are cursed by the Abit thingy.

(My computer is on Danish, so I have translated the best I can).

Error - SideBySide - ID = 33

Details:

C:\Program Files (x86)\abit\abit uGuru\AirPaceWifi.exe". Dependent session Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762" was not found. Use sxstrace.exe for a detailed diagnosis.

You are missing (or it is corrupted) some files.

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

It may need to be run up to three times before successful
Let us know the results from the report at the end.
