"COM Surrogate" Error when trying to select my iPhone pictures to copy

Guys and Girls I am having a nightmare trying to get my pictures from my iPhone to my PC through copy and paste when I plug in my iPhone. I have been emailing them to my email address but that is just a pain in the back side.

I am new to the technology world with only 2 years of knowledge so as much help possible would be great from you wonderful people and I would be very grateful for the advice.

I am going to bed now but I hope to see a reply tomorrow evening. Please please try assist :-) thanks in advance to any replys

I build this computer Sept 2011 from all new parts brought from a computer fair. I have had the odd problem with configuration over the past 3 weeks but nothing major since. This cost me £330 to build and the TV was £300 whilst also having a 1.5TB USB storage device
I would look for updated software for the iPhone. Or try this forum:

COM surrogate error is a generic error. I searched the web and found errors relating to Nero, divx, some iPhone but mostly the complaint with iPhone was that it installed the Windows7 driver every time you plugged in.
