Command Center wants to make changes to my computer, can't click no

Before you replied I decided to close herdprotect and rescan but I did not restart my computer, do I need to? The scan I did is finished with the same results as the last.

Also, if the message really is from the alienware command center, do you have any idea why it would be so persistent about making changes to my computer?

It might be trying to update and is failing. You could try downloading the newest version if you wish to keep it. But uninstalling manufacturer bloat will increase performance.

This might be helpful:

| Dell US

I don't suggest messing with the registry part, but the link above lets you download the newest version.

Thanks, I have not removed anything with herdprotect yet. In my screenshot I don't know why it said it was removing setup.exe because all I did was click on the details and cancel the window showing the details.

The Alienware Command Center changes the color of my computer and changes startup settings or power settings. I had no idea that Command Center and Alienware Command Center were the same program. I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but the reason command center wants to make changes to my computer is because it wants to but into action the startup settings I have saved in Alienware Command Center. This however, doesn't fix all of my problems because I still suspect malware or spyware is on my computer.

No problem. Post a new herdprotect log so I can verify those other adware are gone.
After doing so, we can check your pc with herdprotect.

The problems that make me still suspect malware:

The little blue spinning circle that goes next to your mouse when something is loading often shows then goes away after a second.

My internet connection is usually at 1 to 3 bars and often changes quickly. All other computers in my house have full connection bars all of the time.

Shutdown sometimes takes over 20 minutes and still doesnt shutdown until either I press the power button or the computer bluescreens

Randomly my computer's fan starts working very hard even though I'm not doing anything tasking.

Really? Not like I really understand much of that log, but when it supposedly detected false positives isn't it possible for viruses to really be there and have themselves detected like that on purpose?

Doing the hitman scan right now.

Hitman pro is clean. Did you do the google chrome reset?

Last thing to do/check: (I know you ran it before, but let us see.)

1.) Download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.

  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool

  • Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
  • After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
  • The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.
  • Upload the contents of that logfile in your next reply using the paper clip on the reply box.
  • A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.

2.) Using AdwCleaner v3: Scan & Clean:

Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool again.
Click on the Scan button.
AdwCleaner will begin to scan your computer like it did before.
After the scan has finished...

This time click on the Clean button.
Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S#].txt) will open automatically (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
Upload the contents of that logfile in your next reply using the paper clip on the reply box.

Junkware Removal tool:

3.) Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.

  • Shutdown your antivirus to avoid any conflicts.
  • Right click over JRT.exe and select Run as administrator on Windows Vista or Windows 7, double-click on XP.
  • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
  • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete.
  • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
  • Upload the contents of that logfile in your next reply using the paper clip on the reply box.
  • When completed make sure to re-enable your antivirus

Here's the JRT log. When I started the scan my internet bars went from 2 to 4, but when the scan finished and I closed the tool and opened google chrome, the bars went back down to 2. I forgot to enable avg until after I opened chrome which looking back I think was a mistake. I'd like to retry the JRT scan but open avg right after it finishes.

Download and install NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 340.52 Driver WHQL

No further troubleshooting is possible before that; as far as you have display driver version 285.66 installed, which is almost 3 years old.

Dont delete anything. Deletion is not any way to get rid of anything .... you need to uninstall what you dont want.

If you dont want the extra stuff, uninstall the entire driver using DDU. Then run the installer again. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

You will get only the things that you want.
