This is probably the longest I've ever had a Windows machine run without having to restore it to scratch. I'm used to restoring to "factory" about every 2 yrs. I've run with Win7 since new in 2009 and only recently (Nov, '14) restored to clean up the machine from all my 'xperimenting. LOL!! I may never need another machine.

Upgraded to 10 when it was still free, then installed 2017 update.

I have run the Comodo Leak Tests dozens of times on each of my computers neither of which even have an administrator account set up.

I tried to run it, but my Trend AV went off and this is my work laptop....so I cannot take the chance of shutting down the AV and simply trusting that everything is ok. I'd be laughed right out of a job if my machine got infected while I shut down my AV app. I'm sure it's safe...but better safe then sorry.

I don't even have an AV to shut down while running the Comodo Leak Tests besides they are just a set of 34 benign Firewall and HIPS tests that can not infect a computer anyway.

I am using Comodo v5.3 with the Sandbox disabled because I prefer to make computer security decisions myself using Defense+ HIPS besides that the Leak Tests were not designed to be used with a sandbox. Other than that I run Defense + in Safe Mode using the settings shown in the attachments.

I replaced Windows UAC with the Comodo Proactive Defense+ Host Intrusion Prevention System years ago, but someone else may know.

A Guy- When I was running v5.0 and v5.1 of the Comodo Firewall I couldn't get a perfect CLT score either and I was just as baffled as you now are, but just after I installed v5.3 I got the 340/340 using the same settings that I had been.

One solid improvement I did make was to delete all of the entries in the 10,000+ entry Trusted Vendors List in the vendor database files under Comodo> CIS> database to prevent any erroneously signed Malware from getting through. The TVL is only a convenience saving feature anyway and besides I prefer to make these decisions myself using Defense+ HIPS. I was expecting that there might be a lot more pop-ups as a result, but so far I haven't noticed a difference.

After reading this thread, I really don't understand all this effort to claim a perfect score with CLT ... First, this test was developed in 2008, and probably doesn't test for all of the current threats that are present today .. Second, while comodo is a good security suite, it is only ONE layer of a proper multi-layered approach to computer security. The other two layers being a real time anti-malware program and system imaging... After using this approach for 20+ years of my 35+ years of computer use, I have never been infected with a virus ... not once. That being said, I find tests like CLT an exercise in futility .. at least for me...

For me it's not so much about getting a perfect score, as wanting my firewall set up right. If Comodo Firewall can't pass the Comodo leak test, then I assume I have vulnerabilities. It's not about detecting new threats, it's about the correct settings for the common vulnerabilities. A Guy

AFAIK the Comodo Leak Tests have never claimed to be the ultimate Firewall test suite, but rather a set of 34 tests that the end user can apply to help them evaluate Firewall security. The Matousec Proactive Security Challenge consists of 148 tests and is much more complete than CLT.

You are right about the importance of layered computer security. I have chosen to add yet another layer of computer security by running my browser in the virtual space of Sandboxie. Although it does not enhance Firewall security it does prevent Malware from associating itself with the computer's file system and registry.
