which "Security level" ?

I installed comodo which includes a Defense+ tab in the interface. The Defense + security level is "Safe Mode". Do I need to jack it up to the paranoid level?

Avast firewall scored 200/330. I guess its just a matter of publicity that comodo scores full marks.

After detecting and removing Downloader in c:\users\...\downloads\clt\plugins\coat.dll Norton scores 150/330.

My Eset Smart Security 4 doesn't do so hot....
Edit: I turned my firewall to interactive mode, before it was on automatic mode with exceptions and now I get 200...

If you really want to do a real test, go to GRC and run it against your firewall... To me this test is garbage...

Tried hard wire and still got a score of 210... then tried the test from GRC and got perfect... hmmm GL

there is a BIG difference between GRC & CLT.
GRC tests INCOMING, CLT tests for leaks = OUTGOING connections.

There are quite a few other problems with the tests, such as testing Mamutu. WTF? It is solely a behaviour blocker.

comodo wrote the test program, no surprise it passes the test.

for more independent discussions on comodo and their other 'security' products as well as other competinbg firewalls see wilders security forum. they discuss the equally suspect matousec tests.

leak tests do not necessarily show how good a firewall is, many of the so-called leak vulnerabilities have never been used in real life attacks, or are impractical to use in an attack.

p.s. - i am of course a bit prejudiced, my outpost firewall scored 320/340

anyway, i was very tired when i posted, and since polarbear posted a link to
Gibson´s main page where "Shields up" is mentioned, i (wrongly ?) assumed that polarbear meant that test,
which is for INCOMING connections.

last night i discovered that it must be something wrong with Comodo´s Firewall & Defence+, running CLT i only got 180/340 points myself !
