Just one word of explanation in conducting a firewall leak test

The procedure I use, which I believe to be a valid test is to set my security at my normal level, and run the test - when I am prompted by the firewall as to how to react to an attack I select Deny (I do not choose to remember this action as I test regularly).

The users response to the firewall prompt is an integral part of the security process and must be taken into account - If a user is prompted regarding a test and then selects allow the test will show fail as the packets will leave the system but in my opinion the prompt is a pass as the correct deny response will protect the system and achieve a pass.

For starters, by default Norton allows most(or all?) leak tests because it knows they are not malicious.

I'm sure I could find something more informative if I did a Google search but like doktornotor, I'm fed up with this nonsense.

I've been using the Comodo firewall for a couple of years , it used to have a steep learning curve the present vesion is much better in that respect. As a firewall it is very good I am using Comodo Internet security suite on Windows 7 64 bit it is free & also includes Antivirus , Defense & a Sandbox.
They also have a free System Cleaner which is very good.

If you really want to do a real test, go to GRC and run it against your firewall... To me this test is garbage...

Well I did go to the site & ran the leak test & Comodo antivirus flashed up with a malicious object which i cleaned
