Company of Heroes only 6 FPS

Company of Heroes will not go over 6 FPS. If I turn all of the options on I get 6 FPS if I turn off all of the options I get 6 FPS. Smaller resolution I get 6 FPS and on a bigger resolution I get 6 FPS. Standard clock speeds on GPU I get 6 FPS. See a theam going on? Any Ideals?

ATI 9550 overclocked
Intel P4 3.06 with HT
1 GB (4*256) PC800-45 (400 MHZ) Ram running in dual channel

Your video card could have a lot to do with it.

I ran this game in windows xp with the same computer and it ran fine. Now that I put on windows 7 a few months ago and now just reinstalled this game I am see this problem. Every other game runs at the same FPS as before.

i assume you have the correct drivers installed for your gfx card.

if so, you could try running the game in xp compatibility mode.

right-click on the shortcut >> compatibility >> run in xp sp3 mode >> while you're here, also try disabling themes, desktop composition and running as admin.

might help. might not.

Just tried what you said before and no dice. Still 6 FPS.

probably the drivers then if the machine could do it faster in xp.

what drivers are you using?

Radeon 9550, there is not now and never will be a Windows 7 driver for it. The best you're going to get is this one,

ATI Catalyst

and if this is the same Intel 850 based system as in your other thread, then unless it has a working AGP driver then the ATI driver will not install.

This card is supported for windows 7. However it is from microsoft only. I have been using the legacy driver from amd.
