Compaq CQ58 WLAN driver problems

so my friend got a compaq cq58 a day ago but the wireless isnt working, i tried alot of drivers but none worked,been sitting for about 5 hours,none of the drivers work and i dont know why but the cable lan works perfectly.please help

Are there any errors in the Device Manager ? Is the Wireless Card enabled

How old is the laptop? If you did correctly use the right drivers, its possible the wireless card died. You could always try a different install of another windows version temporary to see if another version of windows could detect it.
