Compaq Presario CQ5300y Upgades/Activation-Win 7 Home Premium x64

Hello, My 1st post here. I have a Compaq Presario CQ5300y and am upgrading the CPU from AMD Sempron LE-1300 to AMD Phenom x4 9650. At the same time, I'll be adding 2gb memory to the 2gb already there and also adding a Sandisk 64gb SSD as the boot disk while leaving the current 320gb as storage..

I'm guessing all this will wreck havoc with Windows Activation. Should I call MS before I even start or just do it and then phone them for Activation. I have the Key on the side of the PC but no disks. Did use Recovery Manager to make an image to a flash drive and also to DVD so I should be ok there (I think.. Never done this before).

Any tips/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Follow these steps to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

If it fails to reactivate from the COA sticker then here's How To Activate Windows 7 by Phone Step-by-Step Guide.

It is a significant change of the hardware signature but not enough to prohibit reactivation.
