I just bought a new Dell XPS-8700 desktop (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) and it includes, what I believe is, a trial version of Office 2013 (Home and Student?).
I think the shortcut in my Program's list is a Click-to-Run installer, but I'm not sure about that.
Microsoft Office appears in my Control Panel > Programs list (size is 318 MB), but I'm not sure if that is the entire Office program or just the installer.
Question:
Does anyone know if the trial version of Office is actually installed on my PC, or does the Click-to-Run feature go to the internet to download the program?
I'd like to uninstall whatever this is and completely remove all of it from my system (Program Files, ProgramData, Registry entries, etc.), but I'm not sure of the best approach. I know Microsoft's Uninstaller will remove most of it, but I want every trace of it gone.
My uninstall/removal options are:
1.) Microsoft's built-in Uninstaller, but that's my least favorite choice.
2.) 3rd party uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller, etc., but I always worry the registry entries it wants to remove.
3.) "Microsoft Fix It" uninstaller, but I've never used it before and I don't know how thorough it is.
4.) Reinstall Windows 7 and start from scratch.
Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
