So I've been looking through sites after sites, updating, downloading different software and drivers through the HP site AND the Windows 7 site, Uninstalling/Re-installing, Disabling/Enabling, and even restoring my computer multiple times...but to no avail, this unknown device problem will force me blow my brains out.

I already know that this Unknown Device (Code 43) is my webcam and it seems like there's some sort of malfunctioning going on. It's under the Universal Bus Serial controller and everything else is fine except one (the webcam). I've tried tinkering with it but I'm too scared to start opening up the laptop with the screwdriver.

Of course I've read most of the posts about this problem...but things aren't working out. The only thing that helped temporarily was shutting off the laptop, unplugging it, taking out the battery, then reboot. Everything seemed fine but when I tried to go on TinyChat, the problem appeared again. And I'm back to square one. The frustration that I'm experiencing right now is overbearing. I really need help!

Hi JamaJuice Welcome to Sevenforums!

I can't seem to find a windows 7 driver for your cam but I'm still trying. However, try to install it using a vista driver, usually it will work.

Hanna 1, what does this mean? That HP will not allow me to use my webcam until I reinstall my Windows 7 back to Windows Vista?
