View attachment 172563I've seen several posts on thing similar to this but after trying some of the solutions people have been asked and not getting the issue resolved I just had to post myself.

I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64.

The issue generally only occurs one a day (today it happened as usual but when the screen during start up pops up about "windows didn't shut down correctly, how would you like to start up?" it actually crashed at that point again).
Since that last crash the issue has disappeared for the day as usual.

I had this issue a few months back when i was running vista 32 bit. After I upgraded to 7 the problem just dissapeared and now it is back. I'd just really like to know the actual cause of the issue before I just jump on the reinstall windows train.

My first time posting so...whatever information is required I will respond as fast as I can.

Specs
Windows 7 Professional 64
Original OS - Windows Vista 32
7 Professional has been installed for about almost a year now.
The system is about 3 years old.

Thank you for the reply. I was out of town so I apologize for the late response. I have uploaded everything you have asked of me. That HTML diagnose says I don't have a antivirus for some reason even though I do. Didn't get that part. Anyhow. Thanks again for the response. I hope to hear from you again.

First thing that needs to be done is a full Windows Update.
You also have some problems with Windows Update
Please go to your Maintenance Center and check the Windows Update status. Make sure you are up to date, do them one by one manually if needed.
For help or reset see: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91738-windows-update-reset.html

Next, to be sure:
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header
Select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

If you have new freezing or crashes: upload again please and lets hope there is a minidump.

Last.. if OC-ing, please return to stock values whilst testing.

Well I tried updating using windows update, and I am up to date. I also checked the minidump info. Its already set as you wanted it to be. I noticed over the past few days after I did an update the other day that my system has been a lot better performance wise. Especially from startup. Even though I did have one freeze yesterday. So I will upload another set of testing with this post. Again thank you for the help.

Something went wrong in your AV de-install. You did install AVAST!. But Norton was not de-installed fully:

You can see the exact date and time in my quote in previous post:

Did you remove Norton before that time or after?

You have removed Norton.

Two things concern me in this last post, haven't checked it all yet but you seem to crash on playing steam stuff: TheBaconing.exe
Is this correct?

Also, please, as a test, disconnect / de-install whatever you are doing with the xbox connection? usb21 Xbox 360 Wireless

post back any results...

Yeah but the game crashing was more my fault. I guess it doesnt handle alt tabbing a ridiculous amount of times well. As for the xbox thing. Its a logitech controller. Are you saying to not have the controller hooked up when the PC is booting up? Also im not exactly sure how to uninstall it since its just a controller.

Thanks for all the help so far. I really appreciate it. I crashed twice in like 30 minutes today. Right when i booted up, and second when i was playing a game. I will post data to this post. As for narrowing it down to when I crash. its never longer than like 30 minutes after start up when it happens. It also doesnt really matter what I am doing. Idle - gaming for instance. It will most likely crash at least once a day. Again I cant thank you enough for taking time out of your day to assist me. Much appreciated.

I should have seen this before.... there is something wrong with your memory install (I think). You have a 64b machine and it should be able to use the full 6GB. However your report says otherwise:

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 6.00 GB
Total Physical Memory 3.99 GB
Something is wrong there. In a 64GB system I'd expect the numbers to be equal. In a x86 system it is different as the RAM GB is limited.

So, one of your sticks is not being recognized by W7 though it is installed.

Are you comfortable with taking out the sticks one by one and testing? If not, go to a shop and have the RAM sticks tested and/or your BIOS settings...
If you are, post back and we'll help you through the following process:

1. Powerdown, take off external power completely
2. Open system case, touch metal to avoid static electricity discharge
3. take out the stick furthest from the cpu first (just the one)
4. Boot
5. Start | enter msinfo32 in search field | choose it
6. report back with a post of the snip of the primary page (system summary) of msinfo32
