Computer Freezes after Plugging In USB Device

Hello, everyone!

I would like to request for assistance regarding the stated problem above. Whenever I plug-in my flash drive into the front USB port of my CPU casing, my computer suddenly stops responding to the point that you cannot do anything without pressing the RESTART button. Then, after restart, it will load the Windows very, very slow. The firewall stops wprking, the antivirus cannot start properly and even any application I run will not run. I tried the SFC /SCANNOW thrice after restarting but no problem was found. To restore to normal speed, I need to restart the PC to almost twice or thrice and then wait a few minutes after showing the Desktop. After that, the PC runs smoothly. The flash drive that I plugged in is working properly, I tested it to another PC and no problem was encountered. For now, I do not use the USB ports of my PC to avoid that annoying freezing.

I suspected the USB port is the culprit, maybe have problem in connection or something. I am planning to buy a new casing but if it is not the problem, I may not buy a new one. So, please, hep me with this so that I can save money. ANY help & suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

If its rebooting very slow; and it freezes; it sounds to me like there could be a bunch of malware; spyware; and or adware in your system causing that. As that stuff will slow down windows a lot!. I would download, install, and run the following programs from the links below and see what they come up with:

SUPERAntiSpyware - Downloading File

Also; one last thing: after you run all those programs; do a disk defrag and let it run and that should speed things up a bit as well hopefully.

Do you have problems with anything else when its plugged into that USB port?

As far as I know, the most annoying problem I've encountered is the freezing of my computer after the plugging into USB ports.

Have you tried anything else in that USB port?
Does the port work properly when you plug something other than that particular flash drive in.

I'm sorry, I didn't understand your question. Anyway, I plugged different flash drives into that port but same result happened. I hope I answered your question correctly.

Have you checked Device Manager for any flags? Are all the USB controllers error free? Are there any other USB ports and if so, do they exhibit the same issue?

I checked the Device Manager now, and good news is, there is an "Unknown Device" in the USB Controllers. It is located next to the "Inter(R) USB 3.0 Root Hub". I checked its properties and there is a written warning under the General tab: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". What does that mean?

Hello, sir! Sorry for very long time to reply to you. Regarding your suggestion of installing and running some programs, there are malicious files found, mostly adwares, that are in the system, and already removed by the program. I tried to insert my flash drive but unfortunately, it is still the same. When accessing My Computer, it will just load the window but nothing was displayed. Any other suggestions?

Was your problem solved in the meantime?

If not could you try going to Services (just click the Start button and type Services) and look for Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework.

Is that set to Manual or Automatic?

Try setting it to Automatic.
