I've had my computer since last march and I've had it formatted multiple times due to BSODs and freezes, after it has been formatted it works for while then the problem comes back. I've had it sent off to the manufacturer and they said it's not hardware but the upgraded my power supply from a 400 watt to a 700 watt. They also replaced the graphics card because the fan was making a noise, in fact they upgraded it from a GTX 650 to a GTX 650 Ti. Now it's something i'm installing but I can't figure out what it is. If you need anymore information then ask. I've done memory tests and stress tests so I'm 99% positive that it's not hardware but it's something I've installed but I can't figure out what. I'm quite confident that it's drivers.

Hey, Welcome to Seven forums.

When you say PC freezes, when does this happens? during games, watching videos or just like that. You also mentioned that the issue is due to drivers? Are you referring to GPU drivers? If yes, download the latest drivers from NVIDIA site and also download Driver Sweeper. Uninstall the GPU drivers, run driversweeper to clean the left overs of the drivers. Install the latest drivers now. Reboot.

It freezes when playing games, it doesn't do it often. I have the latest Nvidia drivers (not beta drivers). My experience with driver sweeper is horrible; when I've used it before it crashes on uninstalling drivers which cause my PC to freeze. As a result it causes lots of problems when I turn it back on so I don't particularly want to use it.
I've found computer freezing is extremely difficult to solve as there is generally no clue as to why it has happened.

Drivers?

Suggest running sigverif.exe to check for unsigned drivers as well as updating any out of date drivers.

Start> Run then type

sigverif.exe

Press Enter.

If any unsigned drivers are detected post the results and someone will take a look.

It does not freeze, it merely stops responding for some time. ;)

But, it will come back after sometime showing all the left overs of the driver. After you uninstall the driver and run the sweeper. PC freezing can be caused by driver clashing.

Hmm, well I already have the latest GPU drivers from Nvidia and I didn't have any previous drivers because I downloaded the latest one after formatting my hard drive.

I'm thinking that my only option is to format my computer again, but this time I think I'll get windows to install all drivers for me because I've been told that's one of the best things to do. How exactly do you do it and is it worth doing, would anyone recommend getting windows to install drivers for me?

I ran windows update and it didn't freeze for a while but it blue screened. Unfortunately it didn't create a .dmp file for some strange reason but I took a picture of the BSOD which said:

*** STOP: 0x0000007F (0x0000000000000008, 0x0000000080050033, 0x00000000000406f8, 0xFFFFF8800337BA8A)

*** nvlddmkm.sys - Address FFFFF8800337BA8A base at FFFFF880032B1000, DateStamp 52b326bc

Collecting data for crash dump ...

Then it just froze there for ages. I used the SF Diagnostics tool however and I will attach a compressed file.

Will do but there's one thing I would like to know, what's the best way to remove and re-install Nvidia graphics drivers? I've been told do it this way or that way by many people I don't know which way is best. I've used third party programs that 'removes driver files completely' like Driver Sweeper that crashes and causes a lot of problems to the point of re-installing windows. So I'm quite reluctant as to how to remove these drivers, especially when using third party software. Is there an easy way on how to remove drivers without using programs like Driver Sweeper?
Thanks

Sure, use the Clean Install option from the NVidia driver installer, it should get rid of the old bits of the driver.

I've used the older Driver Sweeper mentioned in the tut with no issues.

do I need to go into the control panel and remove them from there first? Or just download the installer and select clean install?

Bit of a stupid question... I have no idea why I put that. hahah :o
I'll get right on it and let you know if anything else happens.

I would use the clean option from NVidia. Using the CP you may have to reboot and w7 would try to install a driver itself.

I formatted my hard drive and I installed my motherboard drivers from the disc and installed the same Nvidia driver. It still freezes, I'm thinking could it be the graphics driver version? 332.21?

Sorry I missed your last post for two days.:o

Drivers, especially GPU drivers, can and do cause problems sometimes, you might try a version, or two, older drivers and see if it helps. I'm using 327.23 with my 650Ti Boost.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I haven't had problems until earlier today. It blue screened then restarted on it's own without creating a .dmp file even though my settings have been set to not restart and to create a small memory dump.

I then got a blue screen that created a dump file.

I decided to install the 327.23 drivers and it caused the second blue screen so it didn't help.

I've used the SF diagnostics tool. here's the upload:

OK, I'll ask for help from the BSOD Team, I don't read the dump files. :)
