I have the western digital external portable hard disk (my passport series). The previous day it was working fine, i have safely removed it from my computer. The next day, when I tried to connect my hdd on my friend's computer, the system is not recognizing the hard drive. It shows on the system tray that there is a usb device that's been plugged in but when I go to My Computer, there is no other drive other than the two derives that was on my friend's computer. I tried to plug it in another usb port but same thing happens. When I tried to plug it into my own computer and to another friend's laptop computer, same thing happens. And another thing is that when I plug my external hdd, the computer freeze and after i unplugged my hdd everything goes to normal. can anybody help me with this matter? I really need my files to be recovered. Please Help Me!
Tnx

Hello CharlesIV!

I'm sorry for your issue.

Have you tried using another USB cable? Does the drive show up in BIOS, Drive Manager and Disk Management? What is their indication there?

Besides unplugging it safely, what did you do that day with the drive, install something, move something around, did you get any errors or messages, etc.?

Please provide answers to the questions so that we can try and help you further.
