I believe I have windows 7 home premium for 64 bit systems.

when goto as stated above says

Windows 7 Home Premium

service pack 1

no mention for 64 bit systems.

I don't understand that. Allthough I see under System says 64 bit 'hardware'(which I have)

I do know sp 1 for 64 bit systems was an update I installed in feb. 2011 -but do that change my windows edition? do other updates since then?

It should state under "System Type" which is under your RAM?

I read listings under system as regard to 'hardware' so System type there means for mine 64 bit. Therefore I could install a windows that only contains capabilies of a 32 bit "hardware" (which will run on a 64 bit hardware) or a windows which contains capabilities of a 64 bit "hardware". So I don't read that as saying what windows I have actually installed. And to repeat. Info under windows edition don't seem to tell me clearly what I have;unless SP 1 implies a Windows to use the abiliities of 64 bit "hardware". Am I correct? or what is it I don't understand?

System type tells you what version of Windows you have installed. if you have 64-bit installed the you have 64-bit hardware. If you have 32-bit installed then you have to look up your processor model to see if you can support 64-bit OS.
