Well Iceman the temps are fine as for that circled stuff looks like something to do with your power settings my friend - see my Speccy readout.

I don't think it it is in the Control Panel settings more I would suspect in the BIOS which you updated a week ago you say?

See my settings in pic

If you look down this list in the ref you will see change power settings

Ok sorry late reply mate go to Power Options in Control Panel > whatever plan you have set in there > change plan settings > change advanced power settings > in Advanced settings open out the plan and change as per my pics.

Lets try this before we go messing with the BIOS.

Doesn't affect programs iceman just the performance have a look through and open each one out it is real simple and you don't have to do the lot. If you like the transparency and stuff like that leave if you like it I have no use for it and anyway you can reverse all of the changes if you want to:)

well,i did some of the things you list and so i thought i would check a few other things and discovered this shows 8 gb and the program speccy shows 12.it has 12 in it.any reason why it would do that?does that mean i have some bad memory?if so,how can i check them?

update, well guys i found on these awsome forums again, some useful info.i reset the ram in the slots and BOOM all is showing again.my question is,could they just of been loose, could they be bad or could the slots be bad which i dont think they are as it would be strange that there would be 2 slots bad.i also noticed that my system is booting up normal again after reseating the ram.before it would try to boot up 2-3 times before finally booting which i though was the boot sequence.now it seems it was the ram.....

Yes Iceman a very real possibility the sticks can and will loosen with the constant heating up and cooling down. I have on occasion too cleaned the slots with a credit card (small slice of one say an inch strip with ROUNDED corners) with a small piece of microweave cloth folded over the end dampened VERY slightly with alcohol and GENTLY wiped along the slot. The same can be done with the sticks just using the microweave cloth over the contacts.

But be VERY gentle when you do that and no need to scrub away just a simple wipe. Use ONLY a lint free cloth such as the glass cleaning microweave type (it is flat surfaced with no fluff to it's surface at all)

This is just an option usually just reseating will do the job so if it is ok now don't worry just keep it in mind:)

well guys,my computer decided to reboot again lastnight.it sat idle for about 45 minutes and then it started rebooting.it would get to the welcome screen and then reboot.the only way to get it to stop was to start it in safe mode, sgut it down and boot it back up normally and then it would run fine.when i did reboot normally,my microsoft essentials said my comp was unprotected for a minute then went to protected.could it be causing this issue some how?
