Computer randomly restarting, no useful information in event viewer

For the past few weeks my computer has been randomly restarting. It is more common when I'm playing a game. I originally thought that my processor was hitting the shut down temp I set in bios, but I started recording the temp and the time after that it shut down, that temp was never reached. The only thing that gets recorded in the event viewer is that an improper shut down has occurred. This made me think memory but I tested it and it passed with 0 errors. I've also checked the SMART of my HDD with no errors or warnings. So I'm thinking now that it may be an issue with my mobo or my power supply. What else can I try, or how else can I more accurately diagnose the problem? Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Use HWMonitor to check your min and max voltages while gaming for a few minutes and make sure that thwy aren't out of the norm.

Also, check your mobo for swelling, leaking, or hissing caps.

Clean system, thoroughly, with canned air.

Check in Advanced System setting that Restart on crash (or something like that) is unchecked. What is happening is that setting is checked and your system id crashing and Auto restarting. You should also look in the Windows folder MiniDump folder for the crash reports.

I'm thinking that it is my motherboard, because sometimes after it restarts, it says ram: 8gb (4 usable) If I restart again, it usually goes back to normal

I've also thought that I might have a corrupt install of windows, but I'm not sure about that either
