Computer waiting to log off and Media Center is not responding

Hi, this is my question to the forum.

Media Center prevents Windows from logging off, shutting down or restarting. This happens every time I log off even when I have not used the Media Center program.

Always now, Windows asks user to End Program manually before the Operating System itself closes down. [The O.S.] never ends this one program automatically. All other programs still close down at log off.

So why would Media Center stop responding to automatic requests to shut down?

After posting my original question I have gained insight into some ideas and tutorials that might provide workable solution this problem. I have listed my finds here:

1) (post 3, Track Slow Shutdown?)

2) Optimize Windows 7, 22 Speed up Shut Down Time (or post 4 from link 1). ) I have used regedit.exe and searched the computers registry, and none of the suggested entries are presently contained within.

3) I can do this without using tutorial, so surprised never occurred earlier. Much simpler idea, I'd have a go at Windows Features - Turn On or Off and turn off Windows Feature > Media Features > Windows Media Center, and then turn feature back on after a computer reboot. Don't know how it works, just maybe it would re-initialise everything correctly.

I'll try these out this weekend or maybe next week.
