Hello, thanks for reading.

My PC blue screens every time I try to shut down, restart, or sleep. It logs off Windows, plays the log off sound, goes to the log off screen that says "Shutting down" then blue screens. Same with trying to put it to sleep or restarting.

I've been having this problem for a while (years) and have dealt with it by simply never or rarely turning off my PC. I've now moved into a new room and it's much hotter and would like to find a fix so that the PC goes to sleep easily to help with the heat in the room. Right now, the only way I can shut down my PC is to press the switch on the back by the PSU.

Thank you again.

Thanks for your response.

I have updated BIOS with the Gigabyte bios tool. When you say "Intel Motherboard" do you mean the "Intel INF installation" I updated that as well from the Gigabyte website. Graphics card has been updated multiple times and I just updated the Ethernet card (which is a Realtek card I bought and installed separately after the ethernet port on the MOBO failed).

To answer your question, the two TB drives have been there from the get-go.

I thought I attached the zip file to my post, I see it there now and can download it. Is it a different file that you are asking for?

Hi

The motherboard updater known as Chipset drivers

Unfortunately the original BSOD only contained the dump files, when run successfully the Zip will be much larger
there are other logs in it i would like to look at, particularly MSinfo...

you mentioned the port failure for ethernet - please dissable it in your bios

now please create a restore point

Check the firmware drivers for your drives, if an update is available then
IMPORTANT i would like you to do this 1 at a time DISCONNECT your data drive, (ie NON C drive)
update and perform a shutdown.... ANY Blue screen??
now the same for your data drive
note
if no update available still disconnect your secondary drive and shutdown... blue screen??

I ran the log collector again--see attached.

The chipset drivers were updated.

I only see the one Realtek PCIe item under network adapters in Device Manager so I assume the original one was disabled before. Or does it need to be further disabled within the BIOS menus?

I am not sure how to disconnect my secondary disk drive, you mean physically disconnect? I don't know which is which. They are both running the latest drives per device manager.

Do you have any apple devices connected?

The system crashes on the exact same routine every time when the system attempts to create an IRP for device control request.

YES that was it. The culprit was the AppleCharger.sys driver. I no longer own any Apple devices so I just killed the driver and service with the same name. I also uninstalled some Gigabyte utility software that I read on another thread looks for that driver, just to be safe.

Restarted, shut down and put the PC to sleep no problem.

Thank you so much!
