Solved computer won't sleep (again) and logged out of every website

Went to use my computer this morning. The displays were off but the computer was still on. This happened before and I fixed it. I have to look at my older posts to see what might have caused the issue. I think it's a piece of software that I'm using.

I also went to Facebook and some other sites this morning. I was logged out of every website. I usually click on "remember me" so I don't have to keep typing my user info.

I'm not too worried about the sleep issue as I'll be doing a complete reinstall next month. I am curious about getting logged out of every website.

I have Macrium Reflect Free but never used it to make a system image. This time I will if a reinstall is ever needed. I just need to know what's the best media to save the image to, thumb drive, external HDD, DVD-R?

External hard drive is my preferred choice. Would suggest you use Macrium to perform regular back ups on a weekly basis not to wait until you need a re install of Windows! Indeed if you wait to create a system image until you need a reinstall then you have left it too late. If you have an operating system problem and create a backup then you will just back up the problem!

External hard drive is the easiest, both for backup and restore. If you want to be sure, make a second image to DVD; but it will likely require a bunch of DVDs, so you might not want to go that route. Be sure to make the Macrium emergency boot disk (not sure what that is called in Macrium). And tell it to put the USB drivers on the disk. In this way, you can easily do a recovery to a new drive if your current drive totally crashes.

My C drive is 500GB (mSATA) and the external HDD is also 500GB. The external HDD is USB3. That won't cause an issue will it?

It's not the size of the drive more the space used that matters. The image file that Macrium produces is slightly compressed anyway. For example - The used space on my C drive is 194GB whereas the Macrium image file is only 113GB!

Indeed as long as the data will fit use the external hdd
Reflects recovery cd = WinPE cd is a great thing to have around and is the best way to restore a system image not inside windows where a third party utility.... can interrupt the recovery.

You can also create a system image booting to the winpe cd so no third party.... can mess it up too

No telling about the sleep issue possibly try clean boot

Before doing a backup, I create a folder to store the backup in.

For example:
F:\Backups\2017-08-02_Full-backup
or
F:\Backups\2017-08-02_Incremental-backup
or
F:\Backups\2017-07-02_Full-backup
etc.

I then tell Macrium that the backup should go in that folder.

In this way, you can put as many backups as you want on your external hard drive, as long as there is space available on the drive. And if there isn't space available, you can delete an old backup to make room for a new backup.

These controls can be over-written by AV's, Tune-up utilities, browser Add-ons and Cleaners.
Check thier settings if you have any installed.

I did run adwcleaner, but I'm not sure if it logged me out of the websites before or after. I really need to do a clean reinstall and keep better tabs on my system.

I found out what was causing my system to wake.

I have two network ports on my motherboard, let's call them A and B. A has WOL disabled and B has no option like that. I moved my desk and I'm in the process of redoing my cables. I plugged the Ethernet wire into B and didn't realize it. I switched it back to A (disabled B in the BIOS) and now I'm not experiencing any problems with sleep.

I don't know why I didn't look at that earlier.
