computer won't sleep

my friends computer will not sleep when firefox or internet explorer is opened
i have it set to go off in 3 mins but does not when they are opened
in media sharing i have allow computer to sleep so what is wrong

Although Intel dislikes upgrading the INF files, I was able to fix my computer not sleeping problems by forcing a reinstall of Intel INF files (using -overall command line parameter & reboot).

Other than that, maybe you have some application running which is blocking the sleep feature.
