Solved Confused Between The Difference - "My Documents" & "Documents"-Win7?

I agree that this can be confusing.

Perhaps you will get more traction on the issue if you observe:

Windows has always had the notion of multiple users. But, unlike Unix, Linux, etc., only ONE user can be logged in at a time. I suppose that this could be said to be "Monitor or Window Centric" while the Unix view was that there were multiple terminals possible with a logged-in user at each one. No doubt someone could describe it better but I hope that makes the point.

So, let's start with a Windows system with 4 Users.
When one User logs in, "My Documents" means "the Documents folder for THAT USER".
So, My Documents is an alias which points to "logged in User's Documents folder".

It can get very confusing (i.e. worse) if you play around with these things.
Did you know that you can move the location of "My Documents"?
And, you can rename it as well.
And you can rename "Documents" to "My Documents", etc. And, if not those particular changes, there are changes you can make in this context which cause real trouble.
In the end, the computer system can become "confused".... no to mention the humans.
