Connected but web pages don't open

I agree with Layback Bear mate and get rid of the IObit stuff it caused e nothing but grief when I had it on one of my machines way back and it was real pain to get rid of as it clung on in the registry, and I ended up with having to delete it from that. But if you do that make sure you bacj up the registry first http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/4230-registry-backup-restore.html as by the by I always do this after a fresh install as routine.

As for some scans try these

download from bleeping computer – delete any rubbishthese find.

Thanks ICit2lol,

I had already removed all iObit components using control panel>uninstall program.

I ran both AdwCleaner and SuperAntiSpyware and removed the items found. Rebooted and found there is still no connectivity.

Just for kicks I tried to run Windows Defender. I received the following error message:

Windows Defender
Error found: 0x80072ee7 The server name or address could not be resolved.

This seems similar to previous diagnostics messages ~ Cannot find RAY-PC.

I know very little about networking, but I was wondering could it be that there is a glitch with my driver for the Comcast router?

Mumbles something about having a system image handy, silly me that would be too simple. :sarc:

This issue isn't a networking problem, this system has been hacked or ruined by something.

Usually when it shows connected but can't go anywhere using browsers then resetting the network stack fixes it but with the User name issues there must be other problems with the user account.

Safe mode with networking might be worth while or perhaps create another User account and see if that works because this user account appears to be messed up.

Thx for suggestion ICit2lol,

Unfortunately I'm just starting a rapid fire series of day trips so won't be working on this problem for several days.

I'll respond to your post first chance I get.

Thx again
