connected to network but no internet access

my one month old laptop (windows 7) suddenly lost touch with my home network. one minute it was fine the next it wasn't. message says it's connected with no internet access, butwhen I try to print I get nothing. I suspect it's just not connected at all.

Hi Thoran35, welcome to sevenforums. Can you connect to your routers setup page? Normally the address is something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1..something like that. It should be available in the manufacturers manual.

Is this a wired or wireless connection issue?

Either one have you tried disabling then enabling the connection?

If that didn't work, please provide us an ipconfig /all output for review.

Click on Start => in run or search box type cmd, choose run as Admin and press enter. Open up a command prompt then Copy and Paste these ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt . Please attach the .txt file to be found in your Local Disk 'C' on your next post.

thanks everyone for your help. as it turns out there was some component of a virus on the computer that was causing the problems. Webroot had caught some of it, but apparently not all. Anyway all is well.
Great site...I'll visit often to better understand the forum
