I have a Lenovo R61. Installed Win 7 Pro and installed all latest drivers from Lenovo. the wireless will work fine. When I add the laptop to my domain (windows 2003 DC with Radius server. The laptop gets all it security info from a GP on the DC.) I do not see any error on the server. The only error I get is on the workstation and it is the following: The processing of Group Policy failed because lack of network connectivity to a domain controller. This may be a transient condition. the Eventid is 1129.

I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks.

I assume that your DC is handling DNS for your domain, so make sure that it is set as the primary DNS server in the properties of your NIC on the win 7 machine, which i'm going to bet you've already done. Also have you read this Event ID 1129 ? Group Policy Preprocessing (Networking) was it any help. Post back

Yes the DC is handling DNS. I have not looked at the nic card on the win 7 machine. I will check that. The client was also getting 5719 error:No Domain Controller is available for domain <domain name> due to the following: There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. Make sure that the computer is connected to the network and try again. If the problem persists, please contact your domain administrator.

Those issues are typical if your domain DNS server is not the primary resolver for DNS request within your domain. Thanks for posting back, check the NIC and let us know. If that doesn't resolve the problem, their are plenty of great folks here that are sure to have other helpful tips.

when I install XP on the same machine I do not have any problems. That is why I believe it is a windows 7 issue.

I'd compare your XP NIC properties, settings and configurations to the W7 ones and I bet you'll see something different which is causing your issue.

i looked at the nics. not sure what you want me to look at. when i am logged in to the domain i cannot change any network settings. I think the problem is with that. there is a setting to check that says to connect even i can the access point is not broadcasting which they are not. If I can make that change I think it would work. Can you tell me how to change that. I am logged in as admin and the accounts have admin priviliges.

thanks
