Considering New Case

I am very happy with the performance of my PC and all of the software I have in it. The only thing I don't like is the bland black case it is in. I would like one of the UV cases with a clear side panel. Something kind of jazzy. I was considering buying a new case and putting all of the parts in it. I wouldn't do this myself but see if a local shop could do it for me. My question is, if all the parts were transferred as they should be, would the system work as it does now and would I have to reinstall my programs or would it be good to go once it was assembled? The system would be exactly the same. Nothing new to install. The only hardware difference would be the PSU.

Why do you say the Power Supply would be different. The cases do not necessarily come with a power supply do they?

Some do some don't(should say in specs). if you have a good power supply you can transfer that over as well.

That's correct. Bottom line is you will not experience any difference.

That is correct. I just swapped cases and it's the same. Think of it as changing your undies. You don't act different, but you've got on red instead of blue today.

I saw your thread about case help. What kind of case did you end up getting?

I ended up with the ThermalTake Armor A90, but I also had my eye on the lanboy, a few NZXT cases, and a few XCLIO cases. I am pleased, though.

I am wanting something with a clear panel and lots of lights. This is one I have in mind now. Acrylic does tend to be less durable than powdercoated steel, but if you're not setting plates and stuff all over your machine it usually ends up not being a problem.

That's actually one of the cases I had in my consideration pile (though mine was considerably longer at 38 tabs )

As far as lighting goes, if you want a lot of it, I suggest a cold cathode kit.
