Solved Consistent Black screen kernel-power 41 (63)

Forgive my intrussion , im sorry but i cant find how to "pm" you , wanted to ask , how to get a thread moved back . I think it was by mistake moved to a wrong section .
Thank yoou .

In the top right there is a triangle. Press that and request the post to be moved to this section. In tryth, your issue really does not qualify for a BSOD issue as you are not having BSODs. This thread does not either, but it is close enough. So, I'm leaving it for now. But, please post in your own thread. It gets confusing replying to 2 problems in the same thread.

For sata controllers these are what I found on BIOS

PCH Sata control mode IDE
GSATA3 Controller Enabled
GSATA3 Ctrl Mode IDE
eSATA3 Controller Enabled
eSATA3 Ctrl Mode IDE

Now, regarding the driver stress test, I enabled driver verifier as you said with the options you told me to, what do I do with it now? Make it crash and report with what file?

Just use it like you usually would. browse, play games whatever you want. But let it run for 24 hours of you actually using it. You should notice that it being especially sluggish and laggy. That's normal. What it's doing is putting more stress on all the drivers you selected and hopefully the weaker ones or the ones that are causing problems will crash and produce a dump file listing them.

Should I use it for 24 hours? or should I just open a game, let it crash and just report? Because as you've noticed crashing is the only easy thing in this pc! haha :)

Btw did you notice anything on in the bios info and screenshots I sent you?

If it was a real BSOD, there should be a dump file. Run the program again and post it here.

I made it crash again, and unfortunately the folder is completely empty.

However when you told me to follow the instructions with the minidump folder when I changed the settings to minidump I did not get prompted to restart my computer and I had to create the folder after the opperation instead of the program to create one itself.

Anyway, what do we do from here?

PS: Thank you for the replies and sticking to my problem, you've been really helpful throughout all this.

Update, I found out about Furmark and decided to give it a shot since stressing out the gpu would crash my system but it did not! what the actual heck is wrong with this pc. I ran it for a solid minute without seeing any artifacts like the article was saying and temprature maxed out on 75 degrees.

Shouldn't the computer shut down almost instantly if it was a hardware issue? Since it crashes instantly when gaming without any power-hungry games really.

I got it long ago from a store and used it in multiple computers without any of them having problems.
I know you guys are all up for updating the OS but for me, everytime I update windows the system gets slower and slower.
However, I've tried to upgrade to SP1 2 months ago if I remember correctly and it did not solve my issue whatsoever.
All I had with windows updated was a still failling pc only just a bit slower.

The reason is you have an illegal OS. Counterfeit installations such as yours contained heavily modified code that causes the installation to behave it unexpected ways. Analyzing BSOD's and determining their causes on these sorts of installations is very unreliable. For this reason, many analysts won't attempt it.

My recommendation is to install a genuine Windows 7. This will minimize the problems you are experiencing, and make subsequent diagnosis of BSOD's far more reliable. Once you are running a genuine Windows 7 installation, and are still experiencing BSOD's, we will be happy to help you solve them.

To anyone having similar issues with the gtx 570 or 580, keep your bucks, the only thing you have to do is up the voltage through MSI afterburner! Solved for good :D

Mithuna,

I have the exact issue with my gtx 570 but I'm not sure how much voltage i should increase it by. I originally reduced my video card memory clock by 100 and it worked for a few months but now it doesn't (same random restart issue). Right now my mem clock is at 1800 from 1900. Should I revert my mem clock to 1900 and increase the voltage? What should the new voltage be at? Right now the default according to afterburner is 975 mV. Thanks for your help!

Voltage setting?

I am also a ENGTX570 ASUS card user and have this issue. Typical symptom is going black screen while going on Firefox. But after a crash, it takes 4 to 5 hard reset on my tower to load back to my Desktop again because my keyboard and screen remains black after my Windows Logo finish loading. Typically after loading the desktop, if sucessful, I get a couple more black screen and when the screen resumes - this icon pops up at the bottom right corner (attached) stating Window Kernel Mode for Nvidia has failed. On one occasion I also received a blue screen (also attached). If I may ask, how much do you increase your voltage by? MemTest shows that my RAMs are working OK. Please let me know how much I should increase my voltage by. I only start having this issue when I was working on dual monitor. Reduce to one, and crashes less frequently. But today is the first crash on one monitor.
