Constant BSOD while playing BF3 or watching videos

This is my first custom built system that I put together earlier this year. I installed all the current drivers from the ASUS website when it was built around april. Everything was fine up until a few months ago when BF3 starting freezing up on me. I thought it was just the game since others had the same issue.

Well recently its been crashing while watching videos too. Last night watching a movie on VLC I got a blue screen and earlier today I got my first blue screen while watching a video on youtube.

I did overclock the CPU to 4.3GHz using the auto tune settings in AI Suite II or a similar program (cant remember exactly which I used) and Ive been trying to reduce back to default but I'm unable to get into my BIOS. I think this is an issue with my MoBo and Im trying to find a solution on ASUS website.

I have no idea what the issue is so I came to the experts. I dont even know where to begin honestly. The only thing Ive done is uninstall Kapersky AV and install the free Microsoft AV since I heard AV programs can be a problem sometimes. I have attached the zip with 2 folders from the SF Diagnostic Tool. The first was from last night watching a movie and the one with (2) was from earlier today watching youtube.

Please let me know if there are any other files/information you need. Thanks, I appreciate the help.

Thanks for the response. I read the thread and performed some of the suggestions. I am curious if this was a one time error or if it came up again later. I know the PC isnt overheating. My temps for the CPU and GPU have been 50 and 60C while playing BF3. I did perform the HDD test and a quick memory test with the windows tools and they both came up clean. I will try with the memtest tonight and let it run while I sleep.

I clean my rig with compressed air about once a month now so I doubt it could be that.

Drivers were up to date at that time I believe as I tried to get every driver from the manufacturer's website for all the hardware I installed.

I did use the ASUS software to overclock to 4.3GHz which might have something to do with it. Just took one click with the auto tune feature or something like that. Although I thought I did this after 5/2.

The only thing Im not able to do is upgrade the bios. I have been unable to boot into the bios since I built this system. I have already submitted a ticket to ASUS online and am waiting for their response. Maybe this could be part of the problem.

I would not rather perform a "vanilla" reinstallation of windows if this error only came up once. If it was only once then could it have been from dust? If this error keeps showing up and I ruled out everything else then I will reinstall and see if I can reproduce the blue screen.

Thanks for reporting back.

I have requested my friends to keep a check on your thread as I don't have much knowledge on overclocking.
Hope they may have good suggestions for you.

Sounds great, thanks.

Its weird, since uninstalling the Kapersky AV and installing the Microsoft AV, BF3 hasnt froze on me. Although I did get the one blue screen while watching youtube. Its the second (2) file in the zip in the OP. But for now BF3 seems to be stable.

Still trying to get into the bios, havent heard back from ASUS yet.

No this is the last one I got. Ive been playing BF3 and havent got another yet. Maybe it was Kapersky all along? Also, I disabled all the the programs that were set to autostart with windows. Maybe one of them was causing problems?

Too early to say anything.
You need to observe your computer for a few days.
