Constant (corrupt recycle bin(s))!

Ok guys, I don't seem to be having much luck with this problem.

I have re-installed 7 after formatting the drive and the problem with corrupt recycle bin errors has cme back. Not quite as frequent as before but still enough to be a real pain.

Any further suggestions?

Did you reburn your ISO at the slowest possible speed? ... Also, you may have a corrupt ISO ... Just trying to cover all the possibilities here...

Thanks for the suggestion but I dont think it's an ISO issue, as the same ISO was used for another dev machine which does not have the problem!

Try running chkdsk checking auto fix file system errors, AND scan for and fix bad sectors. Your Hard drive could possibly be going out sence you have had this happon on a different install aswell.
Any bad SMART readings? Newest BIOS? IDE mode?
Any other errors doing anything else?

Also, PLEASE fill in all system specs so we all know exactly what we are dealing with, Thank you

I have seen many instances where an ISO works on one computer, but does not work on another. I would burn the ISO at the lowest speed and see if it works.

just on the similar problem. i have a similar issue. When i delete files from explorer they refuse to goto the Recycle bin, but if they are deleted from the desktop or start menu they go straight to the recycle bin without a problem.

i have tried deleting the recycle.bin folder from my hard drives, but when i do a straight forward (no shift) i get an error message about a corrupt recycle bin and asking me to go ahead and empty it. i dont get this message if i Shift+Del the recycle.bin folder.

After deleting the folders the recycle bin works fine ... once! then it reverts to its corrupt state.

going to try the SFC command, but no holding out any hope.

Will keep you posted how it goes.

Tylor,

Yes. You can copy the contents of your old user account's C:\User\(user-name) user folders into the corresponding new account's C:\User\(user-name) user folders. If everything checks out ok, then you can delete the old user account from within the new account.

You cannot simply drag and drop and entire user profile. You'll need to use something like the User State Migration Tool or Easy Transfer for this to work properly.

Hello MacGyver,

It's not dragging and dropping the old User Folder onto the new one, or trying to copy the entire user profile. Instead, it's copying the contents of each individual old user folders into the new one's corresponding user folders to keep all of your old user account's program settings and shortcuts. It works perfectly fine for this purpose only.

Tylor or anyone, has there been any update on this issue? I am having the same problem. I created another partition using a Linux Live CD and gparted. I use the command listed above to delete the Recycle bin, it goes away and works fine. Restart once and still works fine. Next time I restart, the recylce bin is corrupt.
I think it has something to do with the GP or a setting but I have no idea which setting to change. I have set the flag, "Do not move files to the Recycle Bin." Still happens.
I have not tried another user, but it is happening with three different computers and users.
Also, I have run Disk Check and selected the two options for it, for the C:\ and D:\ drives, but to no avail. Any suggestions?
