Continual BSOD's over a 12 month period

Tried it and NO problems computer booted and didn't BSOD.
I have tried unsuccessfully since I got this RAM last year to apply the XMP profile to set the ram to run at 1600mhz. Both with the XMP profile and manually. Now all slots work with the ram I know is good, with the XMP profile running on 1600Mhz.
Such a simple thing. I should've known.

Put the PCIe TV card back in and got a BSOD, found out to re-install my graphics card drivers and everything is running well again. Best part is that what memory that is working (4gb) is runing now at 1600mhz and that makes up for the faulty 2gb stick.

I thought XP and Vista were a learning curve.
But we have come along way with windows, since my first computer an Amstrad 1640 with widows 1.0 on 6 x five and a quarter floppy disks.

Yes and thanks very much for your quick professional response Ken.:D

Paul its my pleasure. It is always a pleasure to work with someone that does all the work, can write, and think.

I hope you do have a handle on it and if not we will worry it out eventually.

Let us know if you need further help

So nearly 12 months of trouble all down to a stick of RAM.
Bought RAM for 238 dollars May 2010 and now only 45 dollars to replace with the same new RAM.
While Corsair offered a RMA on the RAM, It was more expensive to send/RMA the RAM back to be replaced, than to just go out and buy a Kit of the same RAM.

Still a small amount of glitching with the Renesas usb3 2.1.27 driver dropping out. This componant of the MB is linked too the PCIe bus and so is the marvell controller and graphics card etc. Wherther that is a contributing factor to the glitching/dropping out in the Device manager, I am not sure, I have just read a hell of a lot, that the way that MB companies are running their USB 3 and SATA 3 controllers through the PCIe bus. It concerns bandwidth through PCIe bus.

I also went out and bought a new Asus GTX560 Ti graphics card and have had problems with the new Nvidia 285.79 driver. Once the system enters the desktop the screen goes blank for 20 seconds then comes back saying that the Nvidia Driver has just recovered from a crash.
(EventID 4101, Display) (Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.) I have written this information for reference as it seems the GTX 560 series is a popular series and their might be others that have this problem. 285.62 Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered - NVIDIA Forums
Went back to the 266.66 Nvidia driver and the system seems stable again. It might just be that the new Nvidia drivers are not good for this series of graphics card.

It's all a learning curve.

What type of error

Pat5zero, your case is really amazing...
Glad for you that you gave and end to all your troubles.

I have a question.
What type of error did your BSOD signal?
I'm curious in particular to know if it was 0x07f type
(Kernel_trap).
I suspect that I also have similar RAM problem
as you had (btw, I also have Corsair memory sticks...)

Thanks, Paolo

Almost all of them were not. There were 3 of 22 crashes that were and the predominate one was 0x0C4
