Convert Recovery DVD <to> USB Drive?

I've extracted the files from the Recovery DVD, my Lenovo laptop let me create, as an *.ISO file.

< NOTE: I've also created a recovery USB Drive that doesn't boot. I always test them after making them to be sure they are working, and the system WON'T let me make another one (that's the stupidest thing ever! )>

I have to look into finding the file that gets edited the first time you create the USB drive (apparently some can be tweaked so as to allow you to create it again) but that's beyond the scope of this post.

For some reason I was allowed to create a Repair DVD - which DOES work, however I'd like to have it in a USB format, and it's creation didn't give me the option to put it on a USB drive.

Now the DVD is bootable, but simply burning the *.iso file to a USB (using Rufus or UNetbootin, etc doesn't work because (I am guessing here - two reasons):

1. the program required to boot from a DVD is different from that of a USB based boot program; and
2. the computer has ONLY USB 3.0 ports and as a "Recovery Program" written to be booted from a DVD player, doesn't have USB 3.0 drivers.

Is there a way I can convert this DVD to a USB Drive that is bootable on USB 3.0 ports?

Yes, by installing the usb 3 drivers in boot.wim.

Lemmie sea, I sometimes run into the same problem. I would use Daemon Tools Ultra to create an ISO off of a working DVD. Then use PowerISO to make a bootable usb stick -- go figure. I'm not suggesting you have to use the utilities I use, I'm simply posting: I understand. I'll listen in and learn alongside you from others in the know, like the earlier poster who mentioned usb 3 drivers in boot.wim.
