copying a dvd from my dvd drive

Hi, I am trying to copy a dvd using my dvd drive. I have not had any success. I am using windows7 and when insert the dvd and leave it alone it opens up and then plays the contents without any trouble. However When I try to copy it I get nowhere. Can anyone help me and show me how a copy can be made?. I must add that the dvd that I am working with was shot on a video camera an is purely an amateur effort. weejohn28

I am Afraid that your solution did not solve the problem. Although my laptop has windows7 home premium I am using APACHE OPEN OFFICE4. and this seems to be the problem, although my desktop computer is configured with the same programmes and on it I have no problems when it comes to copying DVDs. weejohn28
