Solved Copying Files to System Folders Denied

I have UAC completely turned off. When I try to copy any file into the Program Files sub-folder, I'm denied by Windows. I tried applying full permissions to a folder, that didn't even succeed, so I can copy a few files to a sub-folder within program files.

I know Windows has tough security features, how can bypass this, especially within a standard user with elevated Administrator ?

Windows does this to protect itself. From threats (malware) and drive by downloads. If you had UAC on you could easily elevate yourself to fix this issue. I am not sure why you have it off. This makes windows 7 security similar to XP. It should never be turned off.

A standard user account in no way shape or form can alter the program files folder. Standard users do not have permission to install or change software. This is kind of the main point of a standard user account. (As well as restricting access to system settings.)

A few questions:

1.) WHY are you trying to copy something there?
2.) How are you trying to copy it?


You could try using the build in administrator account to do this.
