Ok, so, I recently posted a question on here about my computer's hard drive trouble. I've found out that it has "failed." I searched and tried backing up before I did anything using batch/command prompt, and found out that the Software and System32 was unable to be copied due to an I/O Error. So, now I know the hard drive has failed and is corrupted. However, I'm still able to access internal files and folders that I need using batch/command prompt. I'm planning on "restoring/resetting" the computer, which, in the process will completely wipe the internal documents.
My question is, I need to know how to copy folders - not files, that would take to long - from the internal hard drive D: to an external hard drive G:. If possible, the whole system folder. Also, if it's possible how to create a new folder on the external hard drive G:.
My other question is, if I restore the computer to factory defaults, will it restore the system32 files and fix it? Also, will I need discs for the reset? Cause I did the restore before and it worked fine without the discs.
Edit: Specs:
Windows 7 Home x86
Intel iCore i5
nvidia GeForce
500 GB DDR3
4 GB Ram
Edit:
Also, the computer has an option to restore the computer to last known completed, healthy boot. Will that work?
Please, I've seen almost 300 people visit, and no-one is answering. I have to get this done by tomorrow.
